Improve Your WordPress Search Engine Optimization

Naturally WordPress is already built with some pretty strong search engine optimization, however there are still a few things we can do to further improve WordPress’s SEO. One of the first things you should do to help with your blogs SEO is to customize WordPress Permalinks and make sure that they have not defaulted to post id method. By “post id” method I am referring to one of the preset permalink structures WordPress has that only shows “?p=id”, this is bad for SEO and should be changed. For help with here check out this tutorial “How To Customize WordPress Permalinks”.

WordPress Post Keywords

With a fresh installation of WordPress one of the biggest features missing is the ability to enter custom keywords for each individual post. Having individual keywords for each post isn’t as important as it use to be but it is still worth doing, anything that can add to your SEO is worth doing. Certain themes you can use with WordPress will actually add the ability for you to use Keywords for each post but not all themes do. To solve this problem we install a very useful and popular plugin called “All In One SEO”.

All In One SEO Pack

So I mentioned that the plugin “All In One SEO” adds the ability to used separate keywords for each different post however this plugin is much more than that. I thought it would be best just to list a few of the features that are actually mentioned for the details of this plugin (the following list is copied from the actual description of this plugin);

  • Support for Custom Post Types
