How To Find A Good Template For Joomla 1.5

If you have decided to use Joomla 1.5 to create your website then one of the first things I recommend you should do is change the template. I recommend doing this early for a few reasons, first it allows you to pick a very professional looking template for your website, that suits you. Another big reason you should change the template early is because every template will have slightly different module positions and names. This means that if you change the template after you have added all the content, modules, extensions, etc to your Joomla website it will get all messed up and you will have to go through all your modules and settings to rearrange everything. Lastly every template is different and if you are making any images for your site and you customize the image background colour or anything to suit your template, once you change your template the images will most likely not match as you intended.

You may have heard me say this a few times but templates in Joomla 1.5 are very powerful, you can change the entire look of your whole website (ENTIRE LOOK) with a few simple clicks. This also give you the ability to install very professional looking templates, though the better templates will cost you a bit of money but are very affordable.

Where To Get Joomla 1.5 Templates

The main goal of this page is to help you find a template for Joomla 1.5 that suits you, so I’ll get to the point now. First off the template sites that I send you to will be mostly paid templates that you will need to buy. This is because they are simply the best templates, no one wants to make templates like these guys do for free. However I understand that some of you will not want to buy any templates, not yet anyway, so I will also link to a bunch of free templates for Joomla 1.5 closer to the end of this page.

This is by far my favourite site to get Joomla 1.5 templates, their templates are the highest quality I have seen. Rocket Themes come out with a new Joomla template every month, while you are a active member you will have access to all the new templates. Joomlart Joomla Templates

Another site I used for Joomla templates was Joomlart they have some very nice themes, I used them quite a bit before I turned onto Rocket Theme. Although I do recommend Rocket Theme over Joomlart, Joomlart still have incredible templates and you should definitely check them out also and decide for yourself which templates you like better. Free Templates

There are other paid template sites out there but the two mentioned above are really the only ones I want to recommend. Now it is time to show you where you can also get some free templates, free templates are good but don't really come close to the quality of the templates from the sites mentioned above. If you are looking for free templates you should also go to the two sites mentioned above as they also offer a few free templates.

There are quite a few different places that offer free templates so I will just list a bunch of websites below that you can get free templates from. Look through which ones you want and see if you can find a nice template that suits your needs.
